This is due to the fact that everything in the 1 1/2 acre yard is donated by you, the people of San Francisco. Program manager Matthew Levesque describes the facility as "a temporary home for wayward materials." Much of the material collected comes in from residential and commercial remodeling and building jobs. "There is a tremendous amount of good quality materials being discarded every day in this city. Almost every construction site has leftover or reusable materials that go straight to the dump.
